SAKURA GAOKA was opened by Hogakukan Co., Ltd. in 1995. Our school gives all lessons in small classes. Because we pay much attention to each student and thoroughly instruct them in learning, it will be the shortcut to their goals. Moreover, our school has a low student-teacher ratio, so there are many opportunities for our students to communicate with the teacher face to face. The teachers have rich teaching experience either in others Japanese language schools or abroad. When our students feel anxious, the teachers who have full of know-how will tackle their problem together.

  • Our school is just a 5-minute walk from the famous Shibuya Scramble! You can experience Japan's "cutting-edge culture" everyday, and there is also a historic shrine nearby, so you can experience classic Japanese culture. This area is also famous for art and music. There are many museums, cultural facilities, live music venues and clubs. Another feature of Shibuya is that it is home to many IT company headquarters.

  • At our school, classes are tailored to the learning needs of each international student, and we cater to a wide range of levels from beginners to advanced students. Students can receive detailed instruction to ensure that they can improve their level while having their own goals.

  • The greatest feature of our school is that we are a "Full-Time school", which is rare for the Japanese language schools. Most of the Japanese language schools give lessons only in the morning or in the afternoon, but our school gives lessons all the day. In the morning, we teach the students basic Japanese, and in the afternoon, we give Advanced students lessons about the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU), Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), so that the students could get complete preparation to challenge the top-level universities' entrance exams. After afternoon lessons, we conduct personal interview and coaching. By this full support system, we support every student for running to their goals.

  • The school can also help students with finding a part-time job to fund their studies. They also post available local part-time jobs, and prepare you for the interview.

  • Since its opening, the school has produced many lawyers, administrative officials, and civil servants. In particular, in the field of the bar exam, the school has produced the highest number of successful candidates in the industry for many years. In addition, Ito Juku, which shares a school building with our school, is attended by many students from prestigious universities such as the University of Tokyo and Waseda University.
