In April 2026, Japanese immigration made two new rules. FIRST: Students must have at least “A1 level” Japanese. Zero level is no longer allowed. SECOND: Japanese language schools must (video) interview new students, and test their Japanese. If the student fails the interview, they can’t apply to the school. GOOD NEWS!
