MARCH 2025: The Japanese immigration started requiring a “150 hour certificate” of studying Japanese to apply for a student visa.
APRIL 2026: They ended the “150 hour certificate” requirement, but they made a new rule. Schools must test the language skills of new students. If the student fails the test (video call interview) they can’t apply to the school.
