JILA (Japan International Language Academy) provides an environment where learners can value their individuality and realize their potential. As a method of learning Japanese, J-ILA focuses on conversations that are often used in real life, as well as grammar. We teach that the basis of communication is "respect for each other." As a result, student’s communication skills in Japanese have improved, and students who have graduated from J-ILA have received good reviews from university and vocational schools. University teachers say they are "good at Japanese" and "speak well." Our philosophy is: "mutual respect + independent action + Japanese language ability to collaborate = international talent who can shine as a member of society."

Kyoto was the capital of Japan for 1,000 years. There are 17 shrines and temples registered as world cultural heritage sites, including Kiyomizu Temple and Kamigamo Shrine, making it one of the best places to get a deeper understanding of Japanese culture. On the other hand, there are many schools, including Kyoto University, and it has an academic appeal as a “student town.” The school is located in downtown Kyoto.

Students attending JILA come from diverse regions around the world, such as Europe, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and South America.

At our school, we set goals together with students from the time of admission, set a schedule for each student, and provide guidance for admission. For those of you aiming for higher education, or passing the JLPT, our dedicated teachers and staff are ready to support you every step of the way.
-
The school can also help students with finding a part-time job to fund their studies. They also post available local part-time jobs, and prepare you for the interview.
-
It is difficult for international students to collect information on universities and vocational schools individually, so instead, teachers and school staff examine the learning content and examination requirements of universities and vocational schools and provide information to everyone. We also invite vocational school staff to J-ILA to hold briefing sessions for admission. For specific career guidance, teachers with a wealth of experience in admission guidance hold individual interviews with students and give lectures on preparing for entrance exams. We look forward to helping you shape your professional path and achieving your goals together!
Housing

As a general rule, students must live in a dormitory for the first 6 months in order to improve their life in Japan. If you have your family in Japan and you live with them, please contact J-ILA. The dormitory is fully equipped (toilet, bath, kitchen, electric cooker, refrigerator, microwave, washing machine, air conditioner) so that you can live immediately. Water, electricity and internet charges are included in the dormitory fee. J-ILA provides reasonable student dormitories so that students can reduce their living expenses in Japan as much as possible.

We can also help with real estate agencies. These agencies have staff speaking foreign languages, so you can communicate without worries.
