Dating in Japan
There are countless videos on YouTube about dating Japanese women, but most are misleading at best. These videos will give you false-hope and false information. You need a deeper understanding of Japanese culture to have any dating success. I’m not an authority on dating Japanese women, but I do have firsthand and secondhand experience with Japanese women. These are my opinions / tips on dating Japanese women. Do not underestimate the difficulty of dating in Japan.
“COUNTRY GIRLS” want to get married young (before 22 years old) and have a family as soon as possible. They are looking for young guys, under 25 years old, that also want to start a family. They want a man with a good job, and a U.S. military pension is a bonus.
“CITY GIRLS” have no time for a real boyfriend (hookups only) and will never get married. A “city girl” is working two jobs, working 6 days a week, going to college, and always dressed in perfect Japanese style. If you’re on a date with a “city girl” (IMPORTANT) There will be no second date. She is too busy for a second date. You should be bold on that first date, and be ready to take her home, or to a love-hotel that night.
GIRLFRIEND: If you want a girlfriend, you should focus on the GAIJIN women in your school. They are usually kind and feminine, and most Japanese guys aren’t interested in dating them. Most of these girls speak some English, and want a good boyfriend.
HOOKUPS: You need to speak Japanese, dress well, be in shape, have great hair, have game, and don’t look poor. All women want confident guys, and Japanese women are no different. Hopefully you love to drink, because Japanese people need alcohol to let their guard down. You might get a job at a popular IZAKAYA, and hookup with the female customers. You might also have better luck with women over 30. Who’s buying dinner? If the girl is young, the man should pay. If the woman is older, they will treat you like a king. They might buy presents, dinner, or take you on vacations.
WIFE: If you wan a Japanese wife: You should probably to be young (18 to 25 years old) and NOT on a student visa. A military-visa or work-visa will imply you’re more interested in living in Japan long term. Japanese women “country girls” get married young, and they’re looking for a young man that knows some Japanese, doesn’t look homeless, and has a bright financial future.
OLD GUYS: If you’re over 40, and looking for international romance, Japan is not the country for you. You never see young Japanese women dating a older men. Sorry, brother. Go to Southeast Asia… that’s what I did.

Dating apps in Japan can be a huge waste of time. It seems most Japanese girls have them, but don’t use them. If you look closely, most of the profiles are abandoned or scams. Watch this video, before you invest thousands of hours on these apps.
