How to Leave Japan

Most students go to Japanese language school for 15 months ( 12 months of school & 3 months of vacation). At the end of the 15 months you need to leave Japan, or apply for a new visa. The school will help you get a new visa. Do not leave Japan without completing these tasks, and submitting these documents:

• Notify the School your plans to leave Japan.

• Pay all outstanding bills, rent, or utilities.

• Close your JP Bank account.

• Submit a Notification of Moving Out (Tenshutsu Todoke) at city hall.

• Return both health insurance cards (green and pink) to the city hall.

• Give your residence card to the immigration officer at the airport.
