  • Our beautiful Okinawa school is in the biggest city in Okinawa, Naha City, and just minutes from the monorail line. A short monorail or bus ride takes you to Kokusai Street (the tourist center of the city) or to the airport. Best of all, world-famous beaches, tropical islands, and incredible tourist activities are not far away. Don’t forget to bring your international driving permit, so you can rent a car / scooter. The beauty and culture of Okinawa will capture your heart.

  • Our school can accept students from around the world. We typically have around 30 students. We have 5 classrooms (around 6 students per class) and a student lounge. The lounge is a great place to brush up your Japanese, and make new friends. The school is a gorgeously designed open building that will inspire your studies and feel like a home away from home!

  • The school provides above and beyond support. There are English-speaking staff available to assist you with any issues that may arise during your time at the school.

  • GenkiJACS Okinawa offers short-term Japanese courses in a laid-back island paradise. Our communicative lessons focus on speaking, practical Japanese, and real-life communication! Lessons focus on speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary, giving you a well-rounded understanding of the language. Lessons combine textbook learning with interactive activities, conversations, and real-world practice, helping you build both accuracy and confidence. As your level increases, you'll also explore more complex topics and expressions used in everyday Japanese.

    Core Course = 40,000 yen/week

  • The Core Japanese Course includes 20 lessons each week, with four 50-minute classes a day from Monday to Friday.

  • Complete beginners are welcome to start every first Monday of each month. The only requirement is to be able to read the Hiragana Alphabet before starting the course. Classes are 100% in Japanese even starting from 0. The Core Japanese Course is designed to help beginners develop confidence step by step, starting with essential vocabulary, pronunciation, and everyday expressions before progressing to more complex grammar and conversation.

  • Your teachers will guide you through each stage of learning, helping you build a strong foundation while encouraging you to use Japanese in class and during daily life in Japan. Learning Japanese just by reading textbooks and listening to tapes doesn't make you a Japanese language speaker. Students will learn common sentence patterns and vocabulary with the teacher, then use them in practical situations both inside and outside of the classroom. The main course has 4 lessons per weekday, in two 2-lesson blocks (two lessons of Japanese grammar, and two lessons of “language skills” – reading, writing, listening and speaking).

  • You will become a member of a Japanese family. Practice the Japanese you learned in school at your Okinawa home. Learn what a real Japanese home is like. When arranging a host family for you, we try to take into account any needs or preferences you may have, such as smoker or non-smoker, allergies, English ability, and so on. Your host family can act as guides and mentors, friends and companions, and a wonderful resource in your adventure in Japan. They are likely to be the people you become closest to during your stay, which is why we perform a thorough screening of all host family applicants, to ensure that they can provide a suitable environment to assist your learning and to allow you to fully experience Japan.

    Breakfast and dinner included. You are guaranteed to have your own private room, which may be either Japanese or Western style.
